FAQs

Swimming

Swimming will occur weekly.  While the A&L Summer of Fun Day Camp is located at Douglass Elementary, we will be hosting an outdoor water field day on Mondays, so make sure to pack your suits both days!

Field Trips

Off site field trips will generally be happening on Wednesdays weekly!  The day of the week is subject to change based on availability of the desired destination.  Locations for field trips are not finalized yet, but some locations we are working with currently are Paradice Island, Pirate's Cove Water Park, Brighton Oasis, Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park, Skate City Westminster, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to name some of our potential locations!   IMPORTANT NOTE: NO Field trip locations are finalized at this point and locations will not be announced until MAY OF 2024

Daily-What-To-Expect

Campers will have the opportunity to engage in awesome group games, crazy gym fun, super cool crafts, and external providers who will come in to discuss various things!  Make sure to send your camper with 2 snacks, a water bottle, and a lunch EVERY DAY to help them successfully get through these awesome fun-filled days!

What does it mean to be a State Licensed Childcare Program?

Glad you asked!  State Licensed programs are audited and held to the standards of the Colorado State Office of Early Childhood and all their requirements.  One of these is a state required ratio of at least 1 counselor per 15 students.  A&L Summer of Fun Day Camp always maintains a 1:15 ratio and a 1:10 ratio while in any pool.

Taxes

A&L Summer of Fun Day Camp may be deductible on your taxes as child care. Our EIN/Tax ID number is 88-4035054 . Please consult a tax professional for specifics.

Sunscreen

You MUST send your child with Sunscreen at the beginning of camp.  The children are not allowed to carry their own sunscreen with them per state licensing requirements.  Therefore, please CLEARLY label your child(ren)'s sunscreen with their name.  Helpful tip: write their name on the bottle with a permanent marker, then cover the name with clear tape as sunscreen does an AMAZING job of erasing permanent marker.
